About the MEPN Program at Murray

The Master’s Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN) in Murray, Utah offers a great pathway for busy adults to change their careers by entering the noble profession of nursing. Through our MEPN program, applicants who have a non-nursing bachelor’s degree can use their past experience to earn their Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree and RN licensure.

Our MEPN program is offered in a hybrid-online format, allowing you to work full-time while earning your Master’s degree in Nursing. In as little as 22 months, you’ll be on your way to taking the NCLEX-RN and pursuing your dream career.

What you’ll learn

At Murray, you’ll learn how to:

  • Take and record patients’ medical histories and symptoms
  • Perform physical exams and observe patients
  • Create patient care plans or contribute to existing ones
  • Perform and order diagnostic tests
  • Analyze test results and diagnose various health problems
  • Alter treatment plans when necessary
  • Administer various medications and treatments and evaluate patient response

MEPN Program with a Career-Driven Curriculum

Earning your Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree can prepare you for different advanced nursing roles, depending on your preference. For example, nurses who have earned their MEPN can become nurse administrators, clinical nurse leaders, or health policy experts. The Eagle Gate College campus in Murray is located just south of downtown Salt Lake City. Murray is located near the center of the Salt Lake Valley, providing a variety of employment options for MEPN trained nurses. In fact, the Intermountain Medical Center is only a five-minute drive north of campus, giving our students access to one of Utah’s premier healthcare employers.

Eagle Gate Murray offers a tuition forgiveness program to students who have completed a bachelor’s degree and wish to enter the nursing field but do not have all the prerequisite courses needed to enroll in the MEPN Program (maximum reward is $6,525).

Increasing Job Demand for MSN-Trained Nurses

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment of MSN-trained nurses, such as nurse anesthetists, nurse midwives, and nurse practitioners is expected to grow 26 percent by 2028. The demand for these specialized nursing roles will continue to grow due to an “increased emphasis on preventive care” and because more care will be necessary to serve the aging baby-boomer population in our country.

You can take a quick drive north and enjoy all the fantastic attractions, restaurants, and shopping that downtown Salt Lake City offers. The Cottonwood canyons are just a 15 to 20-minute drive east on I-215 East. These canyons offer fantastic hiking trails, scenery, and several world-class ski results such as Brighton and Snowbird.
