The Layton Campus

Layton is an amazing place for students to earn their BSN degree as efficiently as possible.

The Layton campus is centrally located to nearby restaurants and local retail shops. Just two miles north of campus is the Davis Hospital and Medical Center, as well as the Intermountain Layton Clinic, giving nursing students access to some of the best healthcare employers in the state.

Online Courses

Busy adults with full-time jobs or families can still pursue their dreams by earning their nursing degree at our Layton campus. As mentioned earlier, the BSN program at Layton is offered in a hybrid format, and the entire first year of the program can be completed online. These online classes were designed to better serve our students and their busy schedules. Our online curriculum is no different from that of a traditional classroom setting and you can still meet with your instructor at any point throughout the semester.

Smaller Class Sizes

Traditional nursing programs have larger class sizes which can be intimidating to novice learners. Because of our massive building space at Layton, as well as our unique hybrid BSN program format, our class sizes are conveniently small. Smaller class sizes give our instructors the unique ability to provide one-on-one support to each of our students, resulting in a much more fulfilling educational experience.

Campus Location

The Eagle Gate campus in Layton is centrally located in Davis County, Utah. Located just off of exit 331 from I-15 North, the Layton campus is in a prime location for commuting nursing students. For example, if you’re coming from Evanston, WY, the drive will take you about 90 minutes. If you reside in Logan, UT, the campus is only 60 minutes away.

Our campus is close to Hill Airforce Base, as well as the Davis Hospital and Medical Center, providing several employment options for Eagle Gate graduates. Some of the most popular attractions near Layton include the Hill Aerospace Museum and Snowbasin Ski Resort. Layton is a fantastic community with a lot to offer to its residents and local businesses.

Commonly Asked Questions

The typical class size for the BSN program at Layton is typically between 20 to 25 students.

We offer three program starts per year for the BSN program. These starts are in January, May and September.

The first year of the BSN program at Layton is 100% online. During the second and third year of the program, you can expect to be on campus once or twice a week for three to four hours at a time. Clinical rotations, which begin during your second year, are typically once a week and vary running between weekdays and weekends.

Layton BSN students are on campus one to two days per week.

Public transportation is located approximately two blocks away from campus. The Layton campus is directly across the street from the Layton Mall.

Public Notice of CCNE Accreditation Visit Invitation for Third-Party Comments.

Eagle Gate College will host an on-site accreditation visit by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for continuing accreditation of its baccalaureate program on September 27-29, 2021.

In accordance with its Procedures for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs, CCNE provides the opportunity for program constituents (students, faculty, alumni, employers, clinical agencies and the public) and other interested parties to submit, in writing, comments concerning the program’s qualifications for accreditation status. Written third-party comments will be received by CCNE until 21 days before the scheduled on-site evaluation – September 6, 2021.

You are invited to share your comments regarding the Eagle Gate College Bachelor of Science program to CCNE by September 6, 2021. CCNE shares third-party comments only with the evaluation team. At no time during the review process are these comments shared with the hosting program. However, all compliance concerns related to the accreditation standards will be identified in the accreditation report, and the program will have an opportunity to respond to those concerns as part of its response to that report.
