Unitek Learning Celebrates Nursing Graduates in Idaho Falls 

 First Students Complete Nursing Programs at Eagle Gate College. 

 Idaho Falls, Idaho – In the fall of 2023, 45 exceptional students will graduate from one of several programs at Eagle Gate College. This includes individuals from the first graduating class of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, the Practical Nursing (PN) program, and the Master’s Entry Nursing Program (MEPN). There will also be graduates from the Medical Assisting (MA) program at the ceremony. Despite the challenges they faced, these students rose to the occasion and completed their programs in Idaho Falls. 

 “We have so many instructors that go above and beyond to support their students. Each instructor applies their own unique teaching philosophy to help establish successful students,” said Christopher Dixon, the Campus Director at Idaho Falls. “We want our students to grow, achieve, and live their best professional lives. Our ultimate goal is to prepare skilled graduates for the workforce and help combat the nursing shortage crisis that we currently face in Idaho.” 

Sterling Hunting, a BSN graduate, added: “My experience at the Idaho Falls Eagle Gate College Campus was an incredible one. We had instructors who were truly passionate about what they were teaching, and you could feel it. They were invested in our success because they wanted us to be the best nurses possible. This means that they were willing to support us at any time, including late nights and weekends. The Idaho Falls Campus gave us incredible opportunities for learning within the classroom, skills lab, simulation lab, and clinical experiences. This program not only allows me to be successful as a nurse, but it has created lifelong relationships with my classmates. I am truly grateful for the instructors, along with all the support for the entire faculty team, and my classmates who made this experience not just full of learning but made it enjoyable with unforgettable moments.”

Eagle Gate College Dean Won the What Makes Idaho Better Award

Eagle Gate faculty member received prestigious award from KLCE radio station.

Idaho Falls, Idaho –Unitek Learning is thrilled to celebrate the success of Dean Rochelle Mertz in Idaho Falls. Dean Mertz recently won the “What Makes Idaho Better” award from KLCE radio station. This organization seeks to recognize individuals who make a difference in the community. KLCE will announce the winner over the radio, provide Dean Mertz with a meal voucher and complementary stay at a local inn, and enter her name in a gift card raffle by theIdaho Central Credit Union.

”Dean Mertz is a registered nurse with more than 30 years of experience in the fields of maternal child nursing and leadership. She is passionate about helping others and finds joy in preparing graduate nurses to join the profession of nursing. Dean Mertz also holds a master’s degree in nursing education and healthcare administration. Currently, she actively seeks a doctoral degree in nursing education.

Dean Mertz is a beloved leader atEagle Gate College’s Idaho Falls campus. Under her purview, students enroll in programs like Practical Nursing, Medical Assisting, Bachelor ofScience in Nursing (BSN), and the Master’s Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN). Boise, Idaho – In the spring of 2023, 14 exceptional students will graduate from a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in Boise, Idaho. These individuals will attend their pinning ceremony alongside graduates of the Practical Nursing (PN) program and the Masters Entry Nursing Program (MEPN) at the Boise campus. Despite the challenges they faced, these graduates rose to the occasion and completed this blended program.

“We have eight BSN instructors that go above and beyond to support their students. Each instructor applies their own unique and effective teaching philosophy to help establish successful students,” said Pete Traxler, the Campus Director at Boise. “Without the security and support that a formal program provides, it can be almost impossible to succeed. We strive to ensure that our students have room to grow, achieve, and live their best professional lives. Our ultimate goal is to produce skilled graduates and help combat the nursing shortage crisis in the United States.”
