CARES Act Information

CARES Act

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act was passed by Congress and signed into law to provide economic relief from COVID-19. One section of the CARES Act established the Higher Education Emergency Relief fund and sent money to schools to use for emergency financial aid grants to students for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the pandemic.

Eagle Gate College has secured its first round of CARES Act emergency funding for students impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.   Award amounts will range from $350 to $3000 per student and  who meet the following criteria:

  1. Must be current recipient of Title IV Student Federal Financial Aid, and;
  2. Must have been in attendance at a ground campus on or before March 13, 2020, and;
  3. Must have been required to move to an online classroom environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and;
  4. Must be currently attending Unitek College.

All eligible students who qualify for  CARES funding will be receiving an email with application instructions.

Award amounts will be based on Pell Grant and Title IV eligibility as well as the length of the program currently enrolled.  For questions about eligibility, students are encouraged to contact their campus Financial Aid Office or email [email protected] for assistance.
