The World Health Organization (WHO) has named 2020 the Year of the Nurse and Midwife to recognize the impact nurses have on the world. At Eagle Gate College, we offer various nursing and healthcare programs to the next generation. It should come as no surprise that several officers from our Student Nurses Association (SNA) were recently elected to the Utah Student Nursing Association (USNA) Board.
Around 10 officers are elected for the state of Utah. Incredibly, four officers from Eagle Gate were chosen!
What Is the USNA?
If you aren’t familiar with the USNA, they are an excellent organization that can help you become a nurse. Their mission is to mentor students who are preparing for licensure as Registered Nurses (RNs). They also “convey the standards, ethics, and skills that students will need as responsible and accountable leaders and members of the profession.”
About the 2020 Convention
The USNA Annual Convention took place on February 15, 2020. At Brigham Young University, several of our SNA officers gave speeches and highlighted their nursing programs. Students from both of our campuses were elected to the state board.
Congratulations to these outstanding SNA officers!

It is comprised of caring professionals who empower individuals to achieve personal excellence through student-centered, market-driven education.
Some of our programs can be completed in as little as 10 months, while others include online courses for a nursing degree. An active-learning environment often provides nursing students with specialized lectures, simulation training, and supervised externships.
Nursing Programs at Eagle Gate
At Eagle Gate, we offer a BSN program that can lead to work as a Registered Nurse in various healthcare settings. Among others, these include complex and critical care, acute care, long-term care, community health nursing, school nursing, and home health. Of course, obtaining a BSN degree will prepare you to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure examination.
We also offer a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. Career changers can apply to our Masters Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN) as well. Developed with non-nursing students in mind, the MEPN is a great choice for busy adults who would like to change careers. This means that you can enroll in the program even if you do not have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
